The Zadar County lies at the area of 3,643 km2. By its relief, two separate entities may be distinguished. The mountain of Velebit divides the county to the northern, continental part, and the southern, coastal part with rich and fertile Ravni kotari and Adriatic maritime zone with over 300 islands. Particularly interesting in this area is Kornati national park with its 150 islands, islets and rocks, whose white and grey colour of rocky ground gives even more prominence to the blueness of sea around Kornati.
